Nivesh Sahayak StockFree stock register: stock in hand, low stock, stock value

Free stock register

Know what is on your shelf without counting it every day. Purchase bills add to stock, sales bills take away, and you only type the opening stock and what left without a bill. No login, nothing sent to anyone.

How to keep your stock register here

  1. Type the opening stock once. Press "Opening stock", pick the start date (usually 1 April) and type each item with the quantity in hand and its cost per unit without GST.
  2. Keep making bills as usual. Invoices and cash memos from billing., purchase bills and returns from the Nivesh Sahayak App, self invoices and credit notes for returned goods change the stock by themselves.
  3. Record what left without a bill. Press "Adjust stock" for damage, own use, free samples, gifts, loss or expiry, with the reason.
  4. Count now and then. "Count stock" lists every item with the quantity in the books; type what you counted and the differences are saved.
  5. Set low-stock levels. Open an item and press "Set low-stock level". Items at or below it show under "Low stock".
  6. Print, share or download. Print the stock summary or an item's register, share it as a PDF, or download the summary for Excel.

What it does for you

Your data stays with you

Everything you type is kept in this browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded to us. Your businesses, customers, suppliers and items are shared with the other Nivesh Sahayak document tools through my.niveshsahayak.in, so details you saved while making an invoice or a quotation are already here as suggestions.

Keep a backup. If the browser's data is cleared, saved work in it is gone. Open My data (top of the page) and press Save a backup file now and then. One file holds every document, customer and item, and restores them on any other computer or phone.

Guides

Questions people ask

Do I have to type every sale and purchase again?

No. Invoices and cash memos made on billing., purchase bills and returns made in the Nivesh Sahayak App, self invoices and credit notes marked "goods returned" are read from your saved data and change the stock by themselves.

Why is an item I sold not in the stock list?

The register follows goods you bought, opened or adjusted, and items saved as goods in My data. Services (and SAC codes starting with 99) are left out, and so are names that were only ever sold. Add the item's opening stock and it appears.

Why does an item show below zero?

More was sold than came in. Usually the opening stock or a purchase bill is missing, or the item is written with a different name on the bills. Add the missing entry, or use the same item name everywhere.

How is the stock value worked out?

Closing quantity × weighted average cost of opening stock and purchases, using purchase rates after discount and without GST. Mark down damaged or slow goods with your accountant.

Are delivery challans counted?

No. A challan is often followed by an invoice for the same goods, and job-work goods come back, so counting both would take the goods out twice. The invoice takes them out of stock.

Is my stock data sent to you?

No. It stays in this browser, in the Nivesh Sahayak data home shared with the other tools. Keep a backup from My data now and then.
